When there is no controlled flow device in the tundish, as the insertion depth of the ladle shroud gradually deepens, the dead zone area fraction in the tundish gradually increases, the volume fraction of the piston flow gradually decreases, and the initial response time of each ladle shroud gradually decreases. Among them, when the insertion depth of the ladle shroud is 150mm, the response time of each ladle shroud of the tundish is the shortest, the volume fraction of the dead zone is the largest, the volume fraction of the piston flow is the smallest, the flow mode of the molten steel is not ideal, the ladle shroud is more susceptible to erosion by the molten steel during the production process, and the difficulty of floating inclusions in the molten steel increases; When the insertion depth of the ladle shroud is 70mm, the parameters affecting the flow mode of tundish steel are the best, but the insertion depth is small, which is easy to cause liquid level fluctuations, and cause coil slag in severe cases; When the insertion depth of the ladle shroud is 110mm, the molten steel has a certain residence time in the tundish and dead zone. The volume fraction of the piston flow is moderate, and the rigid liquid level does not fluctuate large. Therefore, about 110mm is the appropriate insertion depth for ladle shrouds.
